For my Wednesday school, the 6th graders have been working on an English project this entire semester. We started the semester by introducing a couple of English folk tales. The teacher then decided to have the students take a scene from any folk tale (or picture book) they wanted and make a skit out of it, in English. Every week, the kids worked on a script, props, rehearsing the act, etc. While their English isn’t perfect, you could tell they were trying their best. I took a small video of one group performing what looks like to be “Hansel and Gretel”. Good job, guys!
Their next project was writing their future dream job in English and talking about it in front of the class. The goal is for them to do it for their graduation ceremony. I think that’s really cool. Luckily, I’ll be able to make it to the ceremony so I’ll get to see it in action!
